Yep. Trusty Mr drip pole and I have been BFF's for three weeks now. As you can imagine he makes it
very difficult to get anything done. Between him and my little black and white shadow, who, has refused to leave my side (maybe she is jealous of the attention this beeping thing gets?) a girl really cannot get any peace.
IV weeks are never the best, but life must go on. It’s
maintaining some sort of routine by doing the everyday things, even when
sleeping all day seems a good option, which keeps both Cam and I sane. A coffee
down the road, a walk in the fresh air or even a work out at the gym can make
all the difference.
So while the boy cooks me a chocolate cake (see why I love
this man?) I thought I would post a collection of pictures of things that made
us smile this month... They aren’t
exciting or even anything special but its moments like these
that make us realise that, despite its hiccups, life is pretty darn good.
'Escaping' for a walk at the beach on a sunny nearly autumn day.
Burgers make even the most sleep deprived boy happy… only problem is how to eat it?
Rainbow half-way-to fifty Birthday cake all the way from Tassie… yup care of
Australia Post (and my favourite Aunt of course)
Walking the cake off seemed like a good idea… but proving we
are yet to become true Queenslanders the sun tricked us into thinking we didn’t need
to take an umbrella! Free shower and clean clothes at the same time? Score.
Here's one for anyone who didn’t believe me when I said the cheeky
black and white one wouldn’t leave me alone… even when I am trying to sneak a
nana nap!
I was super proud of these three who got up at 3 AM to ride
40km to the start of a 100km ride to raise awareness of organ donation. Cam did
it in honour of Coen Ashton who, despite waiting for new lungs himself, is working tirelessly to raise awareness of this important cause. Shwety Shmiles holding one of the equally sweaty Team Coen singlets! Are you an Organ Donor?
And if none of the above cracks a smile… chocolate makes any bad day better –
especially when it looks like this! Sweet treats at one of our favourites –

Sorry to hear you have had a bad time of things Jess, even though they can be annoying, dogs are such an uplifting influence when you are down, I would be lost without mine. Its good to see you can find enjoyment in some things, the weather sure isn't doing much to cheer any body up of late. Hope the tide turns for you both soon. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Tony. You may have noticed a strange device in my arm at the workshop - I had snuck off for the day and escaped the dreaded drip pole/IV's! Naughty I know but sometimes necessary! Feeling much better now though and off to Mooloolaba tomorrow to watch the boy race! Very Excited! And yes, our 'fur baby' brings us a lot of joy - such loyal creatures!
