One night, Two worlds

Ok, so its no Pitbull, nor two girls of separate nationalities but it is the two worlds that we live in. The not so glamorous but indeed necessary one, where you are monitored, poked, prodded  tested, observed  measured, poked again- then repeat. Then there is the other where you can control, organise and arrange how you like. run on your own schedule and be comfortable. One of the big differences is the bedding and sleeping arrangements, yes this is about sheets.
All taped up for another test

It is the night before Jess comes home from hospital for her fist night out, though still on home IV's using the "Baxter Bottles" and will be the first CF patient at this hospital to utilise the hospital in the home service (yes we were both amazed that this service was there but no one had ever used it) The apprehension caused though being the first person to use this service is undeniably unsettling  as it takes a lot of trust to allow someone that you don't know, let alone know their skill level or their knowledge of CF and the importance of how small mistakes can cause irreversible damage.

Today Jess told me that its that time of year where we need to trade out the summer throw blanket to the winter quilt, god bless her little soul its only just under 25deg. once this week, but as I am a fan of the extra weight in the bedding and the snuggly feeling of having the padded fluffy quilt to sleep in, it makes it quite easy for me to cope with this change over period in the seasons. So tonight as she lay in those over starched white scratchy sheets at the hospital hooked up to overnight oximetry, I have changed over all the bedding for fresh soft and snuggly ones to welcome her home tomorrow. Its only a small comfort, but sometimes its the small comforts in life that can change the world.
