There comes a point in your life when, at a whopping 23 years old, you realise you are getting old. It happens at about the time when you enjoy a night in just as much as a night out. When you know as much about home wares as handbags and you’re more worried about your mortgage than your make up. It happens when you use the sentence “it was never like that when I was that age”. It comes when you and your partner decide to become parents. Puppy parents!

And I picked up a wedding magazine...
The inevitable happened. Jess got her hands on Wedding Magazine thanks to a well meaning friend. Of course she persuaded me to ‘take a look’ and to my surprise there was an article in it that caught my attention. An article, aimed at blokes, on romance that appeared to be set in the dirty room at one of the mines near the gulf. If you’re thinking what I was, it seems a rather unlikely pair. In fact, mining communities are probably more testosterone packed than an NRL footy trip or Floyd Landis Le Tour win. You see, men aren’t often associated with romance and in my experience getting changed after being underground for hours is as far removed from the concept of romance as possible.

Love and Roses.
Last week was Sixty-Five Roses Week which aims to raise funds to support the genetic condition Cystic Fibrosis (CF). Obviously, this is something that is very close to my heart (or rather lungs), but each year when it rolls around there is something that really frustrates me.

Weekends are for Wedding Expo's - Cameron's thoughts on wedding planning
It is something us guys seem to underestimate. Getting married means a wedding. Weddings require organisation (of extreme proportions). My definition of organised and My Future Brides definition of organised are two different things.

Everybody Loves a Wedding
(Apologies to all those who came searching for this post earlier blogger were doing maintenance and removed it and access to post temporarily!)
So it appears we have neglected our little blog. We do have a few things to share so what better time than a cold (rather FREEZING) and rainy Tasmanian day for inspiration. I may also have an assignment due, so of course my procrastination may as well be put to good use.
The world is recovering from wedding fever. Of course who could go past the spectacle that was the Royal Wedding. Future brides everywhere were looking on with particular interest hoping to be able to encapsulate a little royal magic on their own big day. Apparently I may have been paying a little too much attention according to one furry family member who could not understand my distraction.

When you have an engagement like ours deciding how to plan a wedding to rival it is somewhat of a challenge – thankyou Cameron! Although we aren’t entirely sure what we want to do yet I am sure it won’t come as a surprise to those who know us that a conventional wedding isn’t what we have in mind! We really want our wedding to be something that represents how we have come to be who we, that represents the hope we have for our future and of course the love we have for one another! Our plan is still a work in progress so please keep checking back and continue sharing this experiences with us! xxx
