Today marks the 1st day in my training calendar that had "specific stuff" in preparation for the Tour De Timor 2013. This is something Jess and I have had as a dream since we first found the event a couple of years ago. Although it will only be myself heading accross Jess is really keen for me to see first hand this very special place. I am hopin to visit the charity we chose as part of our wedding celebrations and I think it will be a trip of great personal development. Right now though the whole thing seems little crazy.
I have to make a pretty big confession - this was my first time out riding a proper MTB and thankfully (the deposits paid)
I had a ball ( Australian colloquialism for great time). I love getting out in the dirt and amongst the trees. There was an incidence when the bike was riding me down this leaf littered trail, and it's handling skills were a bit to be desired, I knew if I was in control I wouldn't ride over all those sticks and stones, but fortunately it didn't break my bones!
I know I am going to be sore tomorrow. Something about being a shattered mess at the moment gives that away! I will leave the training jargon and details of my schedule for another time and place (much to Jess' approval) but if you promise not to give away my hot tips to the competitors I am always happy to share details and answer questions! Thats if I can walk to the computor anytime soon

Ps. Thank you to Brendon, Mark and Dan at Crank House Cyclery Bardon for the bike - how things have changed since my Malvern Star back in the 90's

Oh Cam how I laughed at the visual thought of anyone doing what you're embarking on, on a Malvern Star lol.
ReplyDeleteHa, yes that does seem unfathamable, but the race should be fun. Really tough but fun. I can not wait. Do you ride?
